'The World’sFinestFriendliestMost MagnificentSmall Music Festival'

Thank you for coming to Music on the Marr 2019

We hope you had a ball. From consuming music to cakes to beer. From making new friends to willow fish to pom poms. From singing tunes old and new. From smiling, laughing and maybe even sleeping on the campsite.
We will let you know about the future when we know more! Do visit our facebook, twitter and instagram pages for masses of pictures and films to keep you dancing. And do consider buying "A Decade of Dancing" (see below) to celebrate our 10 years.

Music on the Marr 2019

Welcome to Music on the Marr, a completely not-for-profit festival which celebrates great music, diversity and excellent entertainment for all ages. We have real music by real musicians. We have real ale by local brewers. And we have good food, great hospitality and lots of smiling. Eagle eyed visitors to our village will know that our motto is #pleasedance - and we try to bring that spirit of friendship, entertainment and fun alive for a few special days in July.
The festival centres on the Marr (the village green) in Castle Carrock, which can be found nestling in the foothills of the North Pennines, four miles south of Brampton, in north east Cumbria. The music happens in several venues – the main marquee, the school, the church, and the village’s award-winning public house ‘The Duke of Cumberland’.

We have music workshops, wandering magicians, circus acts, poetry, traditional dancing, willow weaving and a high-quality arts market. Homemade food can be found in the Magnificent Tea Emporium, and delicious coffees come courtesy of the Casbah Coffee Van. There’s also guided nature trails over the weekend into the beautiful Geltsdale countryside.

2019 will be the tenth year of our not-for-profit festival. Every year we aim to improve on what’s gone before. We are very inclusive and like to encourage young people to enjoy live entertainment, therefore all accompanied children 16 years and under will have FREE access to the entire festival.

Come along and enjoy something you’ll remember for a very long time.
